This year should be exciting because the Dodgers appear to be a much better team this year and they weren’t all that bad last year.

But it just won’t be the same without Vin.  After a life time of being the Voice of the Dodgers, Vin Scully retired at the end of the 2016 season.

Scully’s replacement might be the best voice in town, and yet it won’t be Vin’s and us long time Dodger fans will notice the difference. We will truly miss the baseball stories as only Vin’s would tell them.

Once again the Dodgers ticket prices for the games have been increased, Not only has the base price for the Dodger games gone up, but this year the owners of the dodgers have decided that some games are worth more than other games, therefore some games will cost more to attend than others.

Games such as when the Dodgers play the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, or the Boston Red Sox, or even when they play the New York Yankees, the games will cost more than when the Dodgers play the Arizona Diamondbacks. They probably will even charge more to attend the Dodgers rivals from up north, the San Francisco Giants when they come to town.

There are also rumors that the parking fee will also cost more as well as the price for food. All in all, the Dodgers better play very well and it better be a darn good game considering how much it is going to set you back to be there.

It does seem that Spectrum, which was formerly Time Warner Cable, is not going to be the only station carrying the Dodger games this coming year. When you pull up the dodger schedule of games it shows MLB as also showing the games. The question will be if the games will be free or if MLB will charge to see them?

All I can say is that the Dodgers have made it very expensive for a family to see a game and for future kids being able to see a game, and without the kids attending games how can they become a future Dodger fan.

Think about that Dodgers home office.

However, no matter what the ticket price will be or, who is showing the games, it’s baseball season and ‘It’s Time for Dodger Baseball’.

It also means that it’s time for Angel Baseball as well. Many Angel fans were absolutely sure that Mike Scioscia would not be returning for the 2017 season and that the owner Arte Moreno would fire him and opt for someone young with fresher ideas.

But it was not the case, the Angels manager, Mike Scioscia, is expected to return in 2017

On paper the Angels look really good for the upcoming season, but they have several older players that are injury prone. They will need to stay healthy in order for the Angels to fair better than the end 0f 2016, when they didn’t even make the playoffs.

The Angels opening day at the Anaheim stadium is April 7 against the Seattle Mariners.

Ticket prices will also increase for the LA Angels for the 2017 season. Last year the Angels implemented the flex prices for certain games and they had difficulty in filling the stadium. It’s a bad combination, a losing season and high ticket prices but they are doing it again this year

Hopefully Scioscia will be able to get a lot more out of the Angels this coming season. Several players really need to step up. On paper they should have been a much better team than what showed up to actually play the game, Mike Trout can’t be the only player that shows up.

Here in Southern CA we are very fortunate to have two good baseball teams and only when they actually play each other do we have to pick a side to cheer for. I would love to eventually see the Dodgers play the LA Angels in the World Series. Now, that would be something to remember!
