Well even if you aren’t, too bad, it’s here already! Pre-season started last month with a few teams already showing signs of weakness in their lineup.

The first official game of the 2015 season is September 10, with the Pittsburgh Steelers at the New England Patriots (without Tom Brady for now)

And just like every other season some of the weaknesses can be blamed on a few ‘missing links’.

These so called ‘missing links’ are due to injuries that occurred during practices, some due to bad pre-season trades, or too many rookies that haven’t quite managed the move from College to Pro. However, there are several players that are ‘missing in action’ due to suspensions for drug use or spousal abused or something of that nature.

Tom Brady is also on suspension, due to his apparent role he played in ‘deflate gate’.

However, even without the ‘deflate gate’ there are a whole lot of football fans that are convinced that this is just another case of the New England Patriots cheating to get a win, and it isn’t the first time that they have been caught !

Of course with all the players that will have to serve out their suspensions, comes the impact that this will have on Fantasy Football. Do you or not keep a player that will not be able to play for the first game or so?

There is also the players that have been released from their contracts due to being arrested for DUI’s, Violence, spousal abuse.

The latest to fall is Aldon Smith who was released by the San Francisco 49ers on August 7 for driving under the influence, committing a hit and run and vandalism. This was the third time Smith was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving since being drafted by the 49ers in 2011.

If Smith was going to be one of your Fantasy Football selections, you need to go back to the drawing board, who do you replace him with. What if you already had your team picked and ready to go with Tom Brady as your starting Quarterback, do you keep him and use another pick to get a back-up for Tom. But who? Who will be available?

Add to that all the injuries that have occurred before the season even started and you can really see how much all this has already affected the game. With RG3 out once yet again with another concussion and even though he is already back in practice, you have to wonder, why was he even out there setting himself up to be injuried again.

It’s sad when the gossip surrounding the game of football gets more press time than the game itself. But that is exactly what has happened over the last couple of years. Remember Aaron Hernandez? He is still making the headlines.

So much press time given to showing the negative aspects of players personal lives that the NFL has had to step in and try to offset it with more time and assistance given to players that need help. Adding to that is also longer suspensions for drug and spousal abuse giving to players along with termination for players that are arrested.

Unfortunately players suspensions and terminations and injuries, don’t just affect them and their family, it also affect their teams, the other players on the team, the team owners and their loyal fans., especially the fantasy football players.

Hopefully we will start to see the players will see that the end result doesn’t justify the abuse and they will get help!

Hopefully Team owners and managers will see the writing on the wall and get help to the players that really need it and start taking better care of protecting the players on the field.

When that happens, we as fans, will see more press time given to the actually game instead of what we are getting now. We all love to see the hard hits, the sacks, the blocked kicks, but not to the point where the players are either injured during the game, or take their angry out on those closest to them after the game.
