Are you ready for some FOOTBALL?

Believe it or not, the 2016/2017 football season is upon us.

It doesn’t seems all that long ago that we were getting all worked up over the 2016 Super Bowl with the Denver Broncos becoming the NFL Superbowl champions. Remember this headliner ‘Broncos Win Super Bowl 50 as Defense Swarms Panthers’

However that was last season, this football season starts with the first pre-season game on August 11, which will be several teams playing a Thursday night game, The games being play that I will be keeping an eye on will be Denver at Chicago and New Orleans at New England.

The LA Ram’s first pre-season game will be Saturday, August 13 and it will be played at 5:00pm at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum against Dallas.

Funny thing about pre-season games is that most of the pre-season games being played either Thursday, Friday, Saturday or even Sunday will cost between $10 to $20 each, but then there is the Game between Cleveland and Green Bay at Lambeau Field, these tickets will cost you around $50. However, the trophy for overpricing goes to the LA Rams, their tickets will cost around $94.00 each, can we say Ouch!

The actually opening day for the NFL season will be Thursday, September 8, at 5:30 and what better way to start off then a re-match between the winners of the 2016 Superbowl, the Denver Broncos playing the losers, The Carolina Panthers.

This game is already getting a whole lot of hype. The Panthers will look to exact a measure of revenge for their defeat in Super Bowl 50 over the now Peyton Manning-less Broncos.

Not just the panthers, but specially one person and that will be Cam Newton, especially after all the criticism regarding that fumble by him in the final minutes of the game which lead to the panthers losing.

This year as a fantasy player you are going to need a score card on who got traded to where and who just flat out retired. Then you will have to figure in who is already hurt and who is on suspension. Of course, this list already contains the New England Patriots quarterback who likely will sit out the first four games of the 2016 season after a court denied his appeal.

Below are a couple of links that will show a list of players that were traded and a list of players that have retired.

There is also a link that rates the NFL Disaster Ratings: Retirement and Injury, this could and should be helpful in determining how long a player is expected to remain on the list of injured players.

During the football off season, ESPN and several of the other fantasy football sites have set their eyes on the growing number of women who are playing fantasy football. Women are the fastest growing market of football fans.

It’s not just fantasy football that has noticed the growth of women watching and enjoying football. New Era and several other official sponsors of NFL apparel are now carrying a full line of Jersey, T-shirts, hats and other miscellaneous items especially for women.

No longer will women have to wear over size jerseys, jerseys that are just too large!

This should be a great football season, especially for us football fans here in Los Angeles. We now have our own team, hopefully this time around, the rams will stick around a while and not just up and jump to other city when they feel the urge. I remember going to the Ram games when they played in the LA Coliseum back before they jumped to Anaheim and the Angel Stadium. Then they jumped again to Saint Louis. Was a die-hard Ram fan, now they are going to have to win me back.

Like I said, its going to be a great football season
